Out of 20 Grading Chart

Every possible score on a 20-point test — from 20/20 (100% A) down to 0/20 (0% F) — with its percentage, letter grade, and GPA equivalent on the standard 4.0 scale.

When is a 20-Point Test Used?

Twenty-question tests are a popular choice for homework quizzes, section tests, and standardised short assessments. Each question is worth exactly 5 percentage points, making the math straightforward: 18/20 = 90% (A), 16/20 = 80% (B).

The letter grades below use the standard US 10-point scale: A (90–100%), B (80–89%), C (70–79%), D (60–69%), F (below 60%). GPA values follow the 4.0 unweighted scale (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, C = 2.0, D = 1.0, F = 0.0).
