X out of Y as a Percentage

Convert any score to a percentage and letter grade instantly. Browse by denominator below, or use the search-style lookup to find any specific score.

How the Calculation Works

To convert X out of Y to a percentage, divide X by Y and multiply by 100:

Percent = (X ÷ Y) × 100

For example, 18 out of 20 = (18 ÷ 20) × 100 = 90% — A. The letter grade uses the standard 10-point scale: A (90–100%), B (80–89%), C (70–79%), D (60–69%), F (below 60%).

These are the most-searched test sizes. Select a denominator to see every possible score as a percentage and letter grade.
